<br>One of [Scotland's](https://issosyal.com/read-blog/10055_the-ins-and-outs-of-betting-on-the-nfl-draft.html) most teams is starting again with a brand-new company - and has secured the biggest preliminary investment of any British start-up business.<br>

<br>BetDEX is being led by Nigel Eccles, who co-founded fantasy [sports betting](https://napolifansclub.com/read-blog/22875_things-you-need-to-understand-about-rafting-adventures.html) site [FanDuel](https://inicknet.com/read-blog/2279_the-ins-and-outs-of-betting-on-the-nfl-draft.html) in 2009 in Edinburgh.<br>

<br>The new company has seed funding of $21m.<br>

<br>It [intends](https://learn.ivlc.com/read-blog/59_score-big-wins-how-sports-betting-software-drives-growth-and-engagement.html) to release a brand-new open source software application platform, on which others can [innovate](https://onetable.world/read-blog/103194_online-betting-firms-gamble-on-soccer-mad-nigeria.html) in [sports betting](https://grade1d.smaportal.ae/read-blog/2438_best-u-s-sports-betting-sites-amp-sportsbooks-for-2024.html) wagering, in the very first half of next year.<br>

<br>The company is hiring personnel from a base in Scotland.<br>

<br>FanDuel was offered to [Flutter -](https://trackrecord.id/read-blog/1969_just-how-much-are-americans-investing-in-sports-betting.html) formerly called Paddy Power [Betfair -](https://sfqatest.sociofans.com/read-blog/656_how-fantasy-betting-app-development-companies-and-sports-developers.html) in 2018 and is now worth more than $30bn.<br>

<br>However, Mr Eccles and other [co-founders](https://uptoscreen.com/read-blog/74325_best-u-s-sports-betting-sites-amp-sportsbooks-for-2024.html) are in legal dispute with FanDuel's later phase financiers over the method which they structured a takeover, which left the Edinburgh group without a share of the [increasing valuation](https://connectingsparks.com/read-blog/25100_the-ins-and-outs-of-betting-on-the-nfl-draft.html).<br>

<br>Mr [Eccles stated](https://ekotur.online/sports-betting/how-are-betting-odds-calculated/) that a person thing he learned from the FanDuel experience was to pick investors carefully.<br>

<br>Varun Sudhakar, president of BetDEX, said: "The [sports betting](https://wiki.vifm.info/index.php/User:DorethaPoate01) wagering market charges high prices for bad products and limitations trades by its most effective users.<br>

<br>"BetDEX is diametrically opposed to this method. <br>As chairman of the new firm, Mr Eccles stated it might look familiar to retail punters used to existing online companies.<br>

<br>'Pool of talent'<br>

<br>However, he states that those who use its platform to run their own wagering companies will be able to innovate and develop a larger range of wagering items.<br>

<br>He stated the typical share taken by online bookies is 7% to 10% of a stake, but BetDEX needs to permit that to fall listed below 1%.<br>

<br>The company will develop its own wagering apps to run on the platform.<br>
